Notification is hereby given to the public of the intent of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide assistance to the Winchester Fire Station 2, 1326 Fulton Road, Winchester, KY, for the installation of Project 2017-FO-03479 (36378) Exhaust Removal.

Because of its location in a Special Flood Hazard Area, this facility is susceptible to flooding and storm induced erosion. Under the President’s Executive Order 11988, Floodplain Management, FEMA is required to review opportunities to relocate the facility out of the floodplain or to minimize future damage from flooding. Public comment is invited at the City Commission Public Hearing on October 1, 2019, 5:30 p.m., at City Hall, on possible alternatives to this action and methods to protect the facility.

Interested persons may obtain information about this action and its specific location by calling Lt. Nick Riggs (Project Contact) at 859- 744-1587 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Comments about this project and the application of the Floodplain Management Executive Order to it should be submitted in writing to Lt. Nick Riggs at 44 North Maple, Winchester, KY 40391 by Monday, September 30, 2019. This public notice will also serve as the final public notice provided there are no questions or concerns regarding this project.
